Inaugurated in 1987 and expanded in 2008, this bridge connects Ribadeo, in Galicia, to Castropol, in Asturias, crossing the Ría del Eo estuary (a coastal area where fresh water from the river mixes with salt water from the sea). Besides connecting two important regions, the bridge has a pedestrian walkway and offers impressive views, making it both a strategic location and a tourist attraction.
